Just a quick update today; I’ve been trying to update the blog theme, so I might as well say “hello”.
Sewing: Started on a smock and sketched my doublet gown. For the smock, I wanted to try my hand at embroidery, but I needed to know how the smock would be put together first. It would be a shame to embroider the inside rather than the outside. I’m about halfway through construction. The gown sketch looks promising. I’ll be using a purple, black, and metallic gold fabric that I liberated from my mother. I’ll also need to pick up a black fabric for the majority of the gown, but I haven’t decided what that will be. Since My Intended wants a kilt made in Baltimore Ravens colors, I’ll be using bits of the fabric to accent his kilt, and we’ll increase our corresponding outfit number by one.
“Jewelcrafting”: I received a healthy donation of hemp twine (I guess it’s called) from a good friend in hopes of creating jewelry for my lower class garb. The interweb taught me a basic knot, so I made a bracelet with brown beads that look like glazed wood. It was easy to make once I got the knot down, and the bracelet’s pretty nifty.
Yarn craft: Yeah, no update there. No motivation for knitting or crochet right now.
Musical type stuff: Ditto. I checked the ocarina bag–it’s still there.
Reading update: Finished the Mistborn series–it’s uber-great! The ending was a bit off, but I still enjoyed it very much.
WoW: My primary has finally hit 80 – yay for her.
Sports: The Ravens are “the awesome”, as My Intended says.
Thanks for reading, stay warm, whereever you are.
