Thinking back, the last time I lost sleep over an ensemble was during the trim dilemma for my golden gown.
I was irritable all that week, and spent every waking moment trying to figure it out. All I have going for me right now is the length of time before I plan to wear my doublet bodice. I’ve spent the better part of this evening re-copying the necessary sizes for the bodice (3 to be exact). I don’t mind the pattern tracing bit, it’s the amount of time that I’ve spent on this over the last few days that bothers me. I don’t know why each piece doesn’t fit, and I’ve already made two mock-ups. The alterations and re-pinning that I’ve done only makes the bodice ill-fitting in other spots. If the mock-up from the next round doesn’t work out, I may have to try draping fabric to get the pieces I need. Ultimately, I’d like to combine the 3 side and front pieces because of the fabric design. However, I can’t see that far into the future with the way the pattern and I are fighting.

On the productive side, I made a hip scarf…kind of. Unfortunately, the fabric is too thin, and I strongly dislike rolled and narrow hems. At this point, I also strongly dislike chiffon. I have shell findings that I plan to attach with embroidery thread like coins, but without the sound. It fits at least…much more than I can say about my doublet bodice mock-ups.
/cross fingers for a good Tuesday
Thanks for stopping by.
