AH–You found me! Holy crap–lots of happenings around here and no time to sew for fun.
The prom dress is off my list (thank you, DB) so I decided to think about the design for my comfort gown. Then, we bought a house…so there went that. I’m not going to start any new projects until after we’ve moved next month. I’ll have a bigger space in which to create, although, I’m not entirely sure how I’m going to arrange it. It’s a big old lofted room with reasonable, but short, closet space. I can’t wait!
Right now, I’m finishing up a costume for my first belly dance solo. I’ll be dancing to music from Battlestar Galactica, and I chose black and red as my colors. I’m using Simplicity 2941 with alterations (as usual) and I should have everything except the bead work done today. I need to make a trip out for beaded fringe and some mirrors, although I probably should have just ordered them online at this point. Oh, well. My mistcloak is still draped over SARA–I still haven’t cut the strips for the second layer, and I haven’t figured out how to cut the strips for the [already attached] first layer. It may need to travel to the new house before getting finished.
April was busy and full of surprises, but I *expect* May to be fairly low-key in comparison. I’ll try to post pictures of the last few projects soon.
