June’s almost up, and I’d feel guilty down the line if I didn’t post something in the way of progress.
We moved into our house this month, so my days of sharing a tiny room with the computers and my most wonderful and supportive husband are over. I currently have my own room on the top floor for sewing, crafting, and whatever. The first things I moved into the house were my costumes–I had the room claimed from the first visit. Pictures will be posted as soon as I feel like going back up there; it’s hot.
Since I’ve only been able to do a preliminary setup in the week that we’ve been here, I haven’t gotten into the summer swing yet. With the pending mini-human in my belly, I have to make at least one outfit for faire this year–two if I can find the energy. The primary ensemble will be a high-necked smock, loose kirtle and gown, caul and soft cap. The secondary will be a front lacing gown with a shortened bodice. My important purchase this summer will be a pair of comfy walking maryjanes for my swollen pregnancy feet. The husband is going to go through a fitting of all of his garb so that I can make a list of any new items that he’s going to need. He definitely needs a new shirt, and I might get motivated to make a new pair of breeches. We probably won’t do the matching couple thing this season since we’re dropping a month off the schedule for the baby’s birth.
I think that’s all for now. Thanks for stopping by!
