Progress made

The kirtle is all but done.  I could wear it right now, if the need presented itself.  I’m going to wait until the week before PARF opening to add a guard; I want to make sure that the current hem will work once the belly is bigger.  As my first accessory, I made a tie on pocket to go inside the kirtle opening.  I think I’m going to attach a length of twill tape inside the kirtle to which the pocket can be tied.  I would tie it around my waist, but I don’t want to be uncomfortable, which happens a lot easier than usual at the moment.

Accessory number two is going to be a caul, probably made of broadcloth remnants.  I’ll also have my straw hat to wear and a nice pair of striped knee-high socks that I picked up last year.  I still need to order a pair of comfy shoes.  Ensemble number two is going to involve the loose gown and a new hat, but I’ll need to go shopping for the main fabric in that.  I considered cutting into the sixteen yards of green embroidered home decor cotton that I scored last year, but I’m intent on using that for my regular-size Tudor gown next year.  I’m developing ideas for an ensemble number three that may be fey related, but I don’t think I’ll have time for that.  We’ll likely be going to the Baltimore Comic Con again this year, and I want to do Padme’s sleeveless action maternity outfit.  The con is the last weekend of August, and I’d have to draft the pattern from scratch and make the buckles and symbols all by my lonesome.  We’ll see how motivated I get for this one.

I think that’s enough of an update for now.  Thanks for reading!
