The standoff

So, me and the Tower have reached a bit of an impasse: I don’t want to sew anything new for myself because I’m still coming to terms with the postpartum weight, and I don’t want to sew anything for anyone else because I’m just not motivated.  I tried playing with my serger, looking through inspirational photos, cleaning my workspace, and playing with my embroidery and jewelcrafting supplies (I even bought some new ones).  As a last resort, I took a long list of measurements to ease myself into the creative process.  I hope that starting with something adjustable–striped bloomers (Simplicity 3677)–will get me off on the right foot.

To make it worse, we’re at that point in the year when I don’t have anywhere to go (not even a belly dance class) *sniff*…for many, many months *sniff, tear*.  There aren’t any faires coming up that I’ve made a commitment to attend, although I do have an idea for the Wicked Faire that I should get on paper.  I have also been toying with a fantasy coat design that I really want to jump into, but it will involve a lot of drafting hours and a serious fabric shopping trip that I’m not devoted to making at the moment.

I’m sure that once I get the bloomers done (and once the husband fixes my closet), I’ll have the push I need to get back to normal.

Thanks for reading!
