Underdress – Butterick 4827
Materials: Dark green polyester, blue eyelet tape, black cording
Alterations: Sizing (1” at waist and sleeves, darts placed as necessary), lengthened and pointed sleeves, hemmed arm holes and attached sleeves with tacking stitches, used eyelet tape on the inside rather than creating an eyelet band on the outside
Overdress – McCall’s 4490
Details: Fabric buttons, upper and lower bell sleeves
Materials: Green burlap (?), green lining, gold blanket binding
Alterations: Changed to front opening w/ tapered front split from hips to hem, added strips to front for fit and length
Belt – Custom
Materials: Craft foam, O-rings, jump rings
–Gold disks attached to a gold chain; front closure; gold circlet centerpiece with hanging metal O-rings

–The disks are backed by aluminum foil because I didn’t realize that they would adhere quite so much when I was doing the coats of glue. I left out the fabric because I didn’t want the pieces to be so hard

Materials: Fleece beanie, brown yarn (2 skeins, 3 would have been better), gold blanket binding leftover from overdress
Process: Cut yarn into long strands and bundled each (lots of combing); attached to hat with embroidery floss; mixed / criss-crossed innermost strands with each other in the back for coverage; wrapped with binding, secured with embroidery floss at points; trimmed bottom
Crown – Custom (same as belt)
Materials: Craft foam, acrylic gems
–I didn’t back the crown with fabric because the inside can be seen, and I didn’t want it to vary from the outside by too much.
