The highly anticipated day finally came and went with many smiles and a few laughs. The rain that was scheduled stayed away until after the Ultimate Joust, and even that was just a few drops, but we made our exit anyway. The husband and I were garbed in our new digs, and my mom came along in a working class ensemble. She made a bodice and apron for the occasion…of course, now that she’s hooked, she already planning noble gear for next season. I hope you see where I get it from. My mom played the part of my woman of the house or “hand matron”, if you will. Apparently, she had a good time listening to garb compliments as we passed by other patrons, playtrons, and cast members and she made sure that they knew I made our garb–I can’t be upset over that.
The faire felt a little different this year, but we had a good time. I can’t wait to see how the performances evolve through the season. I also can’t wait to get into the stores next weekend. I did a little browsing in the tea shop, but nothing major–I’m too afraid of knocking over merchandise with my gown. We’ll probably go lower class next weekend, so the shopping is on. My main goals are boots and bellydance accessories.
I’m so glad faire is here. Thanks for reading!
