The hubby’s new shirt is so close to done; I can’t seem to find any buttons. I’ll chalk it up to being tired, but if I don’t find them in the morning, he’s getting hooks and eyes so that I can mark it completed. The shirt didn’t really take two days, I was distracted by WoW today and the possibility of skydiving yesterday. I’m not sure which item will be next on my sewing list, but I was leaning heavily toward a hip scarf. Unfortunately, I’m in faire mode until the end of October, so I can’t justify a hip scarf at this moment. My backup choice is a purple cotton gauze shirt for myself. The problem with that is that I don’t know which kind of shirt I want. I have three yards, but the fabric seems shorter than the standard size. I don’t have enough for a smock, and I was trying to avoid the elastic, drawstring-look shirts in most of my Simplicity patterns. I’m thinking that a yoke style shirt like the husband’s would be a good fit, but it doesn’t feel feminine enough. If I can’t make up my mind by EoB tomorrow, I’ve already decided to make a basic bodice out of green damask leftover from a friend’s skirt. The point of these projects is to NOT overthink, to just DO.
Time to turn off the brain…thanks for reading!
